New Patients

Your First Visit

We welcome new patients and appreciate your referrals! Your first dental visit at Center for Smiles should take about an hour. Here’s what you can expect:

Prompt Registration – We can email registration forms, or you can print them out here. Complete the forms and bring them to your initial visit for quick sign-in!
Personal Interview – Ask the dentist and our team members any questions you like. This interview goes both ways. We’ll want to know why you’ve come to us, what you’d like accomplished, and if you have immediate concerns or goals. In addition, we’ll review your medical and dental history.
Accurate Records – If necessary, our dental assistant will take X-rays and photos to update your file. These records help the doctor assess your condition for precise diagnosis.
Comprehensive Exam – The dentist will examine your teeth, gums, jaw joints, head, neck, and face. If you suffer from pain in any of these areas, or if you grind your teeth, snore, or have chronic headaches, please let us know. In some cases, dental care can relieve these problems. Your exam will also include an oral cancer screening.
Consultation – We’ll talk with you about our findings, recommend treatment if indicated, and answer all of your questions. If you’d like to discuss cosmetic dentistry, or if you have problems with slipping dentures, painful wisdom teeth, or any other oral health concern, please bring it up during your initial visit.
Next Visit – Before you go, we’ll schedule another appointment to start your treatment or another consultation visit to answer all your questions. We want you to be comfortable and understand our recommendations. After all, we've just become partners in your dental treatment!

Insurance Benefits

We understand that our patients are concerned with maximizing their dental insurance benefits. We certainly do our best to accomplish this for all our patients. We choose not to participate as insurance providers, because we don't want the insurance administrators (who are not doctors) to dictate treatment for our patients. We feel that we, the doctors and the patients we serve, have the right and responsibility to agree on what is the best treatment for each individual patient. Frankly speaking, the insurance companies always look to save money; they really don't have the patients' best interest in mind. As a service to our patients, we will accept the insurance portion of the benefits, and our patients are responsible for the balance.

Payments & Financing

You may pay for dental care by cash, check, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa. If you’d like to explore financing, we recommend that you apply for a low- or no-interest loan with CareCredit or Chase Health Advance. These reputable companies offer affordable payment plans for qualified applicants.
